Bernas Bó Ulad

A gap over the mountain, cut for the cattle when Fergus took his half of the armies that way.

Overview

Bernas Bó Ulad is a gap over the mountain, cut through so the cattle could be taken over. Fergus told Medb that his half of the army had the difficult road, and they had to cut the gap to get the cattle across. The text says this is the origin of the name, according to one author of the tale.
