Eis Enchenn
The bird-headed mother of three of Aife's soldiers, beheaded on a cliff path by Cúchulainn.
Overview
Eis Enchenn, the bird-headed, has three sons, Ciri and Biri and Blaicne, who fight for Aife and are killed by Cúchulainn on the rope of feats. On his way back he meets a one-eyed hag in his path who begs him to give way, so he clings to the cliff by his toes while she passes and strikes at his big toe to knock him off. He sees it coming, leaps upward and strikes off her head; the text says she was Eis Enchenn, waiting to avenge her sons.
