Fedlimid mac Daill
Also spelled: Feidlimid mac Daill, Fedelmid mac Daill
Conchobor's storyteller, in whose house the unborn Derdriu screams.
Overview
The men of Ulster are drinking in Fedlimid's house with his wife, heavy with child, overseeing the room. When she crosses the floor to bed the child screams in her womb, and Fedlimid asks her in verse what the noise was, trembling at some great terror. Cathbad tells them it is a girl called Derdriu, and Conchobor refuses the warriors who say to kill the child and has her taken away to be reared for himself.
