Medb's swift messenger, who carries her false offer of peace to Cúchulainn.
Overview
Traigthrén, "the strong of foot", is the messenger Medb sends to Cúchulainn to ask him to meet her unarmed at the hill Ard Aighnech, which is a trap. Cúchulainn agrees, and takes Laeg's advice to carry his sword, and kills the fourteen she has waiting. On the eve of the last battle Ailill chants "Rise up, Traigthrén, swift-footed" and bids him summon the warriors of Ireland; the text does not say that this is the same man.
