River Scéne
Also spelled: the mouth of the river Scéne
A river whose mouth held the fort of the sons of Nechta Scéne, and whose ford was the scene of Cúchulainn's first fight.
Overview
The sons of Nechta Scéne came from the mouth of the river Scéne, where their fort stood. Their father had been killed by Ulstermen, so they were at enmity with Ulster. The text says Cúchulainn killed the three brothers at the ford, and that their mother Nechta Scéne screamed behind them as he left.
