The Sureties Offered to Ferdia
The men Medb offers Ferdia as sureties before he fights Cúchulainn at the ford.
Overview
Ferdia asks Medb for a surety before he goes to meet Cúchulainn, since he expects to die at the ford. Medb lets him choose from kings, princes, farmers, soldiers or bards, and offers Niaman, Morann, Coirpre nia Manann or her own two sons. Ferdia asks for six princes instead, and Medb promises him the jewels and Finnabair when the Hound is finished. Fergus hears the bargain and goes to warn Cúchulainn.
